Future Loop Foundation - 'The Sea And The Sky' (Remixes)

As anticipated, the big track from the recent album gets a brilliant remix release that’s likely to be this years’ ‘La Ritournelle’

Future Loop Foundation

Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site.

Together with the astounding orginal version from the album, Memories From A Fading Room, as predicted at the time, the Ashley Beedle remix is all that we hoped it would be.

Just to recap, a small part of his remix rotational skills, there’s Dr. Rubberfunk, Amadou & Mariam and The London Heavy Disco Revue.

The original mix sets up Beedle beautifully for the more dancefloor orientated UXB of the Earth mix. It seems the Northern Sinfonietta has been brought in as the strings are huge and he’s kept the drama of a Northern Soul track. At the risk of being emotional, it’s enough to bring tears to your eyes while raving under the glitter ball. I don’t suppose they’d ever play this at Blackpool’s Tower Ballroom but you’d hope they would one day. You can guarantee they’ll play it from Ibiza to the Big Chill this summer though.

Serious electro house boogie merchants, Streetlife edits out all but fragments of the original’s main theme. But even then its works as a bouncin’ dirty synth groove as favoured by the likes of John Digweed and Paul Woolford.

And it that wasn’t enough, Paddel Cell (aka Richard Sen and Neil Beatnik) get their bongos out in the cosmic space lab. Dubbed up disco fit for the darkness of the Devil himself.

I hope the old guy you hear being interviewed on the original did get his Birthday Card from the Queen but don’t forget there’s still the Super8 footage and more remixes other tracks on the album to come. Can they get better than this? Still not convinced, Beedle’s Reprise will get you straight to the local orchestral society for an application form for the violin section.

I feeling ‘Track of the Year’ nominations already.
