Hell & Christian Prommer - Freak It |

Hell & Christian Prommer, fresh from their party night with the 3000 other Compost fans last week (see HERE) have followed up the killer track ‘The Angst’ (Parts 1 & 2) that came out on Hell’s own label International Deejay Gigolo back in February. That was more or less a joint effort as Christian (he of the fantastic jazz/house interpretations of DrumLesson - Drum Lesson Vol. 1 that came out 2 years ago now) did the programming, recording, synthesizer, vocals, effects and all-round clever clogs (along with Peter Kruder) so there’s no surprise that these two creatives would be at it again on another extended track that’s as good at home as in the club. They got Henrik Schwartz to remix ‘The Angst’ but with a move to Ben Watt’s Buzzin’ Fly label, they gone to REKIDS’ Spencer Parker to provide an even longer b-side al a Radio Slave (remember Florian Meindl’s ‘8 Bit Romance’). But it’s the a-side for me with the combination of deep tech house and tortured trumpet in the realms of Unsafe Burn Baby Burn experimentalism. This has killer track written all over it and the best thing Buzzin’ Fly have released in ages. Reviewed: Hell & Christian Prommer - Freak It (Buzzin’ Fly Records) Links: |

COMMENTS ‘French Kiss’ gets a free jazz sax wig out while being stretched to ten minutes. Spencer Parker goes deep on the flip. (3.5/5 http://www.djmag.com/music/reviews?id=14040#14040) |
