Rolling off pinewood walls and ringing with spring promise, Songbird has an ageless grace. On its flipside, ‘Frozen Lake’ is a steepling spire of a love song, with a fragile voice, buoyed and raised by harmonium and strings.

This is going to get Iain even more attention following his recent live gigs and appearance on the David Byrne/Brian Eno album Everything That Happens Will Happen Today but it’s still a good idea to get his album, To The Pine Roots.
