You won’t have forgotten that James Pants’ Welcome is one of the albums on the year and a benchmark for others to live up to.

You can’t say the ‘Crystal Lite’ is as hot as the ‘We’re Through’ release but anythiing pants is better than no pants. The remix of KA$H comines the twin talents of Trizzy (aka DJ A-Track, former DMC World Champion at only 15 years old and Kanye West’s tour DJ no less) and XXXChange from Ninja Tune’s B-more experts Spank Rock. In this guise, Mr Davis’ vocals are stripped from ‘KA$H’ as it’s more of a retro disco-tech-house instrumental.

Those with sharp ears will recall Nick Luscombe playing ‘Technopop’ on his NME.com radio show a few weeks ago. A short piece of Pants electro boogie funk, he’s well on the way to some Arabian Prince innovation via the “M” Factor (we need an extended remix of this one).
