Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. You may remember that ‘Happy’ (and the Spiritual South remix) got picked up by Rob da Bank’s Sunday Best label and was followed up by a 12” ‘Devil Inside’. This latest 12” features four versions of a track called ‘Slowly’ and shows there’s more in Max’s drum kit than just massive big beat dancefloor. Not sure that it’s got immediate appeal but the synth is deep and the summertime lyric of “going down, slowly” puts it up as a candidate for a last dance dirty funker. It is accompanied by three different remixes by a variety of names. Not sure what to make of Hot Chip as yet. The clever video to their last single ‘Over And Over’, with Daft Punk pretensions has brought the them big MTV2 attention. You can feel the links here as it’s all about the synth squelching its way through a field full of mud. DJ Naughty goes for a euro-80s disco house summer of love synth approach. You can see why he’s been associated with Munich-based, International Deejay Gigolos. Hectic Mix Nomination: DJ Naughty Dub Reviewed: Max Sedgley - Slowly (Sunday Best Recordings) Cat.
