Track titles like ‘Air Born’, ‘Summers Say’, ‘Cedar Green’ and ‘Happy Happy’ lend clues to the direction of the plot. This is no political thriller or horror, more a road movie on a chopped Harley cruising down the sunny west coast of the States where beautiful melodies line the road and electronically manipulated musical instruments fade in and out of the hazy, blue skied distance. But as we all know life is rarely plain sailing so some heavyweight bass and future leaning beats add a reality check and keep the head nodding.

In the absence of any guest vocalists sampled snippets litter the journey telling stories of life’s rich, human tapestry. A crazy drunk slurs on the melodic but slightly unsettling ‘Airborn’. Hints of deep gospel vocals from the inhabitants of a small church fairing village where you stopped for petrol add a human dimension to the harp and lazy drums of ‘Summers t’Say’.

Jazz hi hats and a soul grunt break up the heavy beats and insistent piano of ‘Awake’ whilst mournful strings paint a rare sombre and beatless picture on ‘Livfe’ hinting at a moment of sadness and heart felt loss along the way.

Not that the trip is all plain sailing there are a couple of punctures along the way with the mental drums and sinister whispered vocals of ‘Fision’ and the unsettling stuttering chopped beats and strings of ‘Csnr’ but apart from these rare moments of vague musical discord all is peace and love in the world of Keaver & Brause.
