Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Fans of Chapters, will know that King Roc brings something fresh to the house scene and on this 4 track release of remixes of ‘A Pocket Full Of Pose’, he’s even brought something new to a ‘For The Floor’ mix that’s more that just missing out a ‘u’ in ‘for’ and a ‘to’ (as in ‘four to the floor’). The synth line in this track is so mesmerising, you can’t help falling for it every time, even when it’s banged up on the lead track. D-Nox And Beckers (last scene on the remix of Lützenkirchen’s ‘Paperboy’ on 5 Years Of Great Stuff) who take a rather minimal approach to their version (with a nod to Kraftwerk’s brilliance) and then there’s Darko Esser’s mix. “Who?” you might say, but not is you’re from Holland as he takes the string synth and piano section into a Robert Miles Children-esque to 4×4. If it wasn’t for the next mix; this would be the best of the lot. But best of the lot is saved to last as there’s a beatless instrumental that’s so string laden it takes your breath away. And another brilliant cover, this guy can do no wrong. Reviewed: King Roc - A Pocket Full Of Prose (Process Recordings) Cat. No. PRCS119 Release Date: 25th May 2009 Links: |
