Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. The product of her unashamed borrowings - Going Just To Be Going - is a delicate selection of cafe strummings meets a smoky night in your local jazz bar. The album is also a product of her travels since early childhood in ophanages in South Korea, youth in America and a move to the UK in 2001 - there’s little wonder the music takes in so much scope. Kinzli skips around some well-trodden musical ground from the entrancing jazz-lite ‘Dangerous Love’ to the gentle bossa latin thing that is ‘I Wish You Well’. She’s got fado jazz going on one minute, a country swing the next. What carries the whole thing is Kinzli’s enchanting vocals backed up by Shabaka Hutchings’s sax, Peter Michaels’s guitar, drummer Pharoah Russell and multi-instrumentalist Jacob Doran. Going Just To Be Going is released on Polkadot Records. Links: |
