Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Connecting the dots between electro, punk funk, disco, indie-rock and p-funk these self-confessed, self-styled musical misfit’s have been playing this sound out live in the clubs and causing somewhat of a riot in the process. “Paris spaced out p-funk like vocals over krautstyle party rock was the goal,” was how Fetisch envisioned the project. Judging by this effort, he has well and truly cracked it Influences range from early Pink Floyd to Prince to even Black Sabbath but on the whole what the Lotterboys produce is choice punk p-funk rockin’ action. On the LP is the trio of singles they have released so far ‘Blazer’ a charged, brassy chunk of filthy low-slung funk, ‘Heroine’, a large fattening dollop of punk-funk and the swaggering ‘Star Whores’, which has more than a slight whiff of Funkadelic about it. Other tunes that come close but don’t quite outshine the singles are the vocoder work out of Black Sabbath cover ‘Iron Man’ the slick Prince tinged ‘Cadilliac and Mac’ and the infectious boogie of ‘Get Down Syndrome.’ Eskimo Records maintain their high standard once again with this new project. For funked up, spaced out party grooves look no further than this LP. |
