Lottergirls - 'Bonfini' EP

Lottergirls are a brand new collaboration and this is their excellent debut EP

Lottergirls - Bonfini

Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site.

It was the Letterboys’ version of ‘Iron Man’ where the ‘boys’ first meet Princess ‘Iron Girl’ Superstar that proved to be the seed of inspiration for this spin-off group sensibly enough called Lottergirls.

It might be surprising then to find that the most well known Lottergirl is nowhere to be heard on Bonfini, at least not in any recognisable vocal form. The other ‘girls’ on this project are Fetisch Bergmann, Baxter Wilderbeast and AndMe and the lead track is dedicated to Bruno Bonfini. Who’s he then? No idea but we get 3 remixes and a really addictive bonus track called ‘9 Inch Spagehetti Jack’.

If there’s someone that knows about blowing whistles it’s Relish’s Headman. So when there’s some post punk funk to remix, he’s going to be on the case, even if it does sound like a dentist drill; that’ll make you laugh — he, he, he, he, he, he, he”. This one is for the samba funk ravers.

Shameboy are a Belgian electro duo Luuk Cox and Jimmy Dewit and what twisted synth rockers they are too!. In the leaking basement toilet of Chinese water torture treatment disco, it’s where Kraftwerk dared not to go (don’t overlook this one).

Judging by the vocals on ‘9 Inch’, Spaghetti is one scary jacker. Electro funk on the cinematic dark side, he says, “ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha”.

Lotterboys version of Black Sabbath’s ‘Iron Man’ was that step too far for most so this EP is more than a promising tempter for the forthcoming album called Right On. We are told that it will have guest performances by fellow leftfielders Amanda Lear (remember her as Mr. Bowie’s ‘friend’?), Manuel Göttsching and Einstuerzende Neubauten’s percussionist, Rudi Moser. I think from that line up, we’re to expect the unexpected.
