Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. This (re)union has been in the offing for some time, ever since the Afro Art 12”, ‘UFO In Brazil / Inside’. Makossa & Megablast are both DJs and producers from Vienna that like to mash up their musical influences and they’ve come up with a couple of big ones. ‘Like a Rocket’ features Capitol A and it’s totally space bound. Many of you will know of Capitol A’s talents as he’s a regular guest on Compost/JCR/Sonar Kollective labels with artists from Ben Mono to King Britt to Mark de Clive-Lowe. Bass boogie dub-out electro for the dance floor. The b-side is the one for me on an Afro-tech-break monster that features Nigerian singer Subrinah. Megablast told us some time ago that “The Flex club is one of the best Sound Systems in Europe” so what better place to hold the release party for the single with Capitol A, Subrinah, regular cohort Sugar B and special guest Richard Dorfmeister (see below for further dates) New fans will also need to check the Dub Club 10 year anniversary album, Megablast’s ‘Jupita’ (Stereotyp remix) on Carl Craig’s Fabric compilation and Tosca remix album coming soon including a Makossa & Megablast remake of Heidi Brueh!
