Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Nick Verwey is an Australian producer who apparently bashed this one out on Fruityloops! But don’t get all high an mighty about this as this is high class wonky deep house bounce. And when teamed up with Belgian whizz Tom Dazing (last seen on FLY with the buzzin’ ‘Wasp Cocktail’) on the remix, ‘Honey Dips’ gets touched by a bit of acid curveball that’s said to be similar to the “bouncy bouncy” U&K remix of Mike Monday’s ‘Zum Zum’ (that came out on our favourite German label, Great Stuff Recordings). But for me, worth getting for the deep tribal house of the original version of ‘Honey Dips’ but I’m more than happy to ‘Touch My Horn’ (a la Jesse Rose). As this follows on from Worthy & Yankee Zulu’s ‘Bad Side’, IDJ have still got it right as, “This label really can’t do anything wrong at the moment”. Reviewed: Nick Verwey - Horn Rash (Playtime) Cat.
