NuN's Chaostry - The Colonization of Unkown Areas Part 2: The Soul |

Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. NuN’s Chaostry is a great name and project from the imagination of Rafal Gladysz. He’s had previous works release on Poland’s Chill label but this is the first release on Luton’s Artifical Bliss (ignore the Part 2 bit in the title). This is a odd mix of inteligent dance music of chilled ambience with a d’n’b base from the leftfield; perhaps best summed up with ‘There Must Be Something’, the opener ‘1000 Kilometres Away’ and ‘Walking Life’. At times it becomes quite dark, even industrial, like on the start of ‘Fantasic Idea!! (Spring At Last…)’ but then there’s some tribal drums and electronic knob twiddling going on as well. I get the feeling that Rafal has travelled and has added a load of stuff into his studio melting pot that results in a sort of cinematic experience; like Shawn Lee’s Under The Sun but closer to Lineland’s Logos For Love. It’s hard to cherry pick on this one (I suppose the Nepalese templeness of ‘Ad Astra Per Aspera’ is my favourite) but be prepared for ‘Prayers’ that finishes off the EP as there’s something of the night about that one, even gothic!
