Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Following on from the single release of ‘Never Never Love’ from the forthcoming album of the same name, Pop, returns to his ‘Dita Dimoné’ as previously heard on You Don’t Know: Ninja Cuts. Available as a Limited Vinyl release (and download and CD), Levi has found a sound that’s his and he’s sticking with it. Not sure what ‘Dita Dimoné’ is about (possible an ode to an odd mix of Dita Von Teese and American automobiles) but also included is another love song to his ‘Semi-Babe’ that’s been given an “Astral Versino” treatment. This is summery sweetness and be warned, a bit of grower. What we love about this one is the range of remix treatments. First up is new Big Dada signings Xrabit & DMG$ to add some hip-hop verbals for Dita baby. And then Pink Enemy returns from the ‘Never Never Love’ remix with something that’s as L.A. as Dirtlab’s remix is Hoxton; the chipmonk thing is a bit worn/retro revival at the same time? “Party Party Party” as they say. Now if you drive a ‘98 Mustang and it’s a blue thing, go straight to Mumdance and High Rankin mix that’s put bass at the bottom and grinds like an industrial jack hammer; this is serious bounce of the lowest frequency; intense isn’t the word. Mr. Levi is currently on a short series of understated gigs but the tempo is sure to increase with the release of the album on 14th July. Put it in your diary. Forthcoming Gigs: Links: |
