Heavily percussive house with a Ladysmith Black Mambazo style gospel vocalisation make ‘Loving Moonbuah’ my favourite track of the moment. I hope there’s not 17 previous Drumpoet 12s that are equally good as this one as my personal credit crunch will start to look like Alistair Darling’s loose change.

No idea who Ray Okpara is but he wrote and produced this piece of deep house heaven. On the more tech house side of things, the remix by Nekes (aka Nektarios Danias) boldly takes out most of the vocals and only puts back minimal dub/echoes to a ska beat. In truth, I’d say this was a little bit clever this and I’m a bit taken aback (this is the bit of invention/imagination that was made ‘Critical Mass’ the best track on Brian Sanhaji’s Stereotype album).

The EP closes with a track called ‘Please’ which has German underground house written all over it and works as a huge contrast to ‘Loving Moonbuah’. So you’d get both tracks into your set no problem and it’s got some wicked hand clappin’ bubble poppin’ underwater dub-echoy bits in a Henrik Schwartz type way which can’t be a bad thing.

There’s house, house and more house and then Drumpoets Community is my kinda house. Love this all night long.
