Dealmaker Records originally put out the 7” of the track ‘Seen’ but and it turned heads as Red created it himself with his turntable technique! It moved Radio 1’s Huw Stevens to pronounce him as a “scratching-beatboxing genius” and Jon Kennedy said, “pretty sik!” after watching the ‘making of’ video.

Even so, as talented as Red is on the decks, he’s also formed a live band called Full Fat with himself on turntables, Mav (guitar, Fender Rhodes, synths, John Clav (bass, synths) and Predator (drums, drum programming). The version here is not as dirty as the Maida Vale version they recorded for Stevens’ Radio 1 session but it’s pretty dirty all the same.

Full Fat are supporting Audio Bullys in the future and they’ll be also gigging in their own right supporting not one, but two album launches! See below for details and I love the idea of this project as a live band; it makes a change from the decks being stuck at the back of a stage in a slightly embarrassing Linkin Park type way.

So whilst these boys rock the house, it’s the Playsatan computer game-old skool remix version that’s got the PSP gig (note the subtle innuendo) and to top things off, label mates, Kids In Tracksuits turn up with some down tempo relief.

Definitely for fans of Breakin’ Bread and Scribble Records as the boys from Nottingham take it to the next level.
