Remano Eszildn - R-Tracks |

Remano might be a fan of Homes Under The Hammer as he’s named 3 tracks R, J & S; well ‘J-Track’ is the manic one, ‘S-track’ is warped and the album title is somewhere in the middel. Scottish born Eszildn is currently based in Bristol and musically he is somewhere between Glasgow’s Soma label and Bristol’s emergent post trip-hop, d’n’b dupstep scenes. In truth, over the 18 tracks on this album, it does fit in-between these extremes as “nighrideresque manic”. Once the synthy d’n’b ‘Golamga’ and the standout 100mph madness of ‘Countdown To Meltdown’ (think of a cyborg synth offspring of ‘Printer Jam’). So it’s a bit of a mixture of experimental, ambient, electro on the left-side. Sometimes it’s warm as a summer day and others it’s as cold as metal like the gothy ‘Memory Mirror’ and ‘Momentary Present’; ‘Waastek’ is very mixed-up. For folks who like something different, this is different. Like Tomita’s Snowflakes Are Dancing’ with all the classical softness removed. ‘The Brink’ is the most dreamscape and then ‘Tekustrex’ is on the 80s pop tip like a minimal Harold Faltermeyer. At times this album is mesmerising and draws comparisons with Ceephax, BOC and ยต-Ziq and if you are a fan, get in quick on the vinyl release as its a limited edition.
