Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Solar Apple Quarktette’s Richard E serves up more pan-continental dance platter from the Africa/Brasil axis of groove power. ‘Hear Me Now’ is heavy electronic Afrobeat with skillfully scratched African vocals and hot synth lines. Next up Brasil goes hip hop on the instrumental ‘Dream Bossa’ with its big sound, heavy beats and, well… dreamy vibes. You’ll recall Richard’s track ‘The Call’ (featuring Jennifer Moore) was included on The Hub Compilation and coming out soon on Sony Japan is Richard E and Annabel(lee) Rework version of Novo Tempo’s ‘Circles’ (also check out their Eurasian Suite work, see links below). It seems ages since I was plugging Richard’s first single, ‘Hear Her Call’ (especially at the last ever That’s How It Is with Gilles Peterson and Further Out ‘champions’ Nick Luscombe and Dom Servini) but it’s definitely time, ideal for fans of 13 Faces Of Lightning Head. Everyone will love this. Forthcoming Dates Reviewed: Richard E - Hear Me Now (Further Out Recordings) Cat. No. FUR012 Release date: 18th August 2008 Links: |
