Always a keen fan of Robert Koch, whether it be with Jahcoozi with last December’s Blitz’n Ass or as The Tape vs. RQM (a timely reminder of how good ‘Luvely’ was earlier this year; see HERE) so it’s about time here heard what’s hot on his DJ decks in Berlin.

This time he’s got together with MC Cerebral Vortex (aka Dennis Alfred Berry from San Antonio, Texas and half of 215:The Freshest Kidz with fellow MC Buddy Leroy) and he provides the flow about biscuits; in truth, there’s more B-more sexual explicit content than anything of confectionary or web browser nature. Personal favourite of the six on the 12” is sci-fi electro brain drilling of the original version; Robert Koch shake tushies! Or was that quooshies?

On the remix front, the UpMyAlley community of moO and fLako; this mix of capitals and lower case in names seems to be coming back into vogue. The fLako mix seems quite raw and harsh with “trademark” manic live drums (runs the original close this one) and moO keeps it leftfield for space cadets.

Possibly best of the lot are the instrumentals that show off Koch’s euro-influenced FlyLo, HudMo beats ‘n’ hip hop B-lin bass. And just love the drums on fLako’s version.

For a fairly new label, this looks like their best release to date; all tracks are growing on be so as the man says, forget Oreos and get vortex cookies.
