The Shahrokh Sound Of K album has been eagerly awaited since the 12” of ‘Break It Down’ came out at the beginning of the year. This is the opening track of Dripping Point and features the vocals of Jamie Lloyd and is a glorious dub-calypso of a deep house track.

Lloyd is from Australia and caught the ear of Berlin’s finest (âme, Trickski et al) with tracks on the Future Classic label (also home to Deepchild, remember Lifetime?).

But there are three other vocalists on this album, one of them is the house legend Robert ‘Night-Time Stories’ Owens. He features on two tracks and you know what brilliance to expect there.

It’s hard to eclipse Mr Owens but Sweden exile Siri Svegler is a real find and features on three tracks, the super sexy ‘Letting You Go’ that’s got a nu-jazz feel to it, the up tempo ‘Leave Your Hat On’ and ‘See The Light’.

But where have Toyin Taylor been? When this guy sings, love happens. Be prepared for some Barry White-esque moments that will reduce big boys to tears.

And you can’t ignore the instrumentals either, especially the space-jazzy ‘Roya’ and the last track on the album, the run-a-way train of ‘Old Score’.

On so many counts, I agree with Alan at Soulseduction when he says, “Dripping Point is delicious and makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside”. Anytime, anyplace this album will make you feel good. This is my kinda house.
