Shimon made his solo name in the D’n’B arenas either as Ram Trilogy or with “the best drum’n’bass DJ on the planet”, Andy C (still love ‘Body Rock’?). And where better than to met your musical other half than on the slopes of Chamonix? Not an obvious location you’d have thought but then again, Scott Nixon is a professional snowboarder. It’s a good job he took as much interest in DJing and mixing as he did the snow boarding such that the pair of them found an instant friendship and a desire to make music.

A scene hit with thier debut track ‘I Like You’ last year saw a rush of 12” activity on Finger Lickin’ Records with the release of ‘Around The Edge’ backed with dirty-electro ‘White Noise’. So the duo’s return has been much anticipated and I’m pleased to say that they’re continuing to develop and ‘Sexy Beast’ is not standard breaks track knicking a bit from the Shaolin Temple and a bit of Dubstep, this is going to be on playlist for a while.

On the other a-side, ‘Brainstorm’ has more of the d’n’b influence about it (sounds like a car chase theme to me) and is guaranteed dancefloor madness making this 12” a quality double header.

Whilst Scott thoughts are miles away from the winter in Val D’Isere at the moment, Shimon plans are very much in the present as he’s currently on trip to the far east with other assorted gigs coming up (see below).
