Not sure about the name or the cover but coming from a range of backgrounds from disco, Hacienda rave, electro, techno, pop and house you might fear the worst. But this is definitely no mess up on this debut album.

It’s Moore’s vocals that lead the way here in a Sister Sledge and Debbie Harry meets Róisín Murphy type way, particularly on the openers ‘Love Chains’, ‘Deaf Love’ and the ‘Not Your Sister’.

Even when the lyrics get a touch obvious, ‘Song And Dance’, the music is never dull. Lots of space synth, big keys and there’s even slide and heavy rock guitar on the instrumental ‘Tick Hop’.

‘Moving Day’ and ‘Night People’ are a couple of electro dubby skankers. They’ve got some wobbly synths going on and are current favourite along with the dripping tap EFX (of a nice hot bath) on ‘I Know What You Did’.

What with the recent sad loss of Mr. Manchester, Tony Wilson (RIP), there’s seems a resurgence is some old names like Graeme Park, Unique 3 and Greg Wilson. The first single is going to be ‘Love Chain’ (with a Greg Wilson mix) but I suspect they’ll be a clamour to get onto ‘Not Your Sister’.

Released out of Nottingham on the home of Neon Heights, Bacajito, this album has a wider appeal than just the club scene.
