Veryverywrongindeed’s head honcho Tim Sheridan gets his hands on a couple of track by Yorkshire duo of Wesley Gill and Tom Taylor (aka The Electric Press).

Former stars of 20/20 Vision were the at the forefront of tech house before they disbanded but as luck would have it, they popped into the studio with Sheridan and produced a couple of turns that got put into storage. Those in the Sheridan know will have spotted that he’s having a bit of a tidy-up (keep you’re eyes open of ‘Eivissa II’) and top of his list would are these two beauties.

On the b-side, ‘Cosmos’ is far too short as it hardly gets going before an abrupt ending which is a real shame as it synth layers boogie along like a DMU on the Southern Region that’s on the run from old skool Ninja Tune breaks (don’t forget Ninja Tune XX).

For those that are more down to earth, get into the full length of ‘Steam’ as assisted by Tim Sheridan (he of the Mike Monday Your Body remix). Trademark VVWI bangin’ beats but with Sheridan’s live piano on top of melodramatic electronics, it’s sort of a natural compliment to Aufgang and my favourite Vijay Iyer (sort of) - with added steam blow off at the end. Similar in style to the Tim Sheridan/King Roc track of last year, ‘Ghosts That Live In Her’.

Apparently, these are the last recordings of The Electric Press as Tom Taylor has got his own label (2pin Records) and you might see Wesley Gill on the Poker Channel as he’s apparently a budding Tom ‘Durrr’ Dwan.

Hot flush yourself to get this pair of winners.
