Thunderheist - Thunderheist

The wait is finally over as Thunderheist presents the debut album Thunderheist!

Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site.

The temptation that was the ‘Nothing 2 Step 2’ (got to be one of the tracks of the year so far), along with previous single ‘Jerk It’ and ‘Sweet 16’ give the new album a hell of a start, but what of the other 10 tracks?

‘LBG (Little Booty Girl)’ sees Zilla refresh the electro genre with Isis getting crunky whilst ‘Bubblegum’ and ‘Slow Roll’ are a bit like the 2 old sides of Missey Elliot whilst ‘Space Cowboy’ wants to be Moroder but sounds more Sarah Brightman and Hot Gossip.

So just when you’re thinking these guys ain’t as hard as you thought, they go and proove you totally wrong with ‘The Party After’, this is crunkin’ XXX style, ‘Freddie’ (with the hook “wipe your nose”) is another simple yet powerful electro-pop with a serious side to it and the uptempo ‘Do The Right Thing’.

There might not be any dancehall on Rodigan’s Real Authentic Reggae Vol.2 and Thunderheist’s ‘Red Whine’ is no ‘Red Red Wine’ but takes it’s lineage from digital dancehall territory and there’s some more low down crunk on ‘Cruise Low”

Fans of Diplo and Two Fingers will be equally as impressed with the dark side of ‘Thunderheist’ as the club-bangin’ fans of ‘Jerk It’ (that apparently made the sound-track of Micky Rourke’s movie The Wrestler) and the electo-pop ‘Nothing 2 Step2’ (still my favourite track and check the link for the Europe tour dates).

Can’t wait to see Isis in the flesh (so to speak).
