Tim Deluxe - Let The Beats Roll |

One Week To Live also took up a football angle on their Tim Deluxe feature this week (well, it is the Champion’s League Final today). They said the single out this week will “kick more arse than the Brazilian football team at an arse kicking contest”. Hot off the back of his work on the GusGus remix of ‘Moss’ and Pressure Drop’s ‘You’re Mine’, this young man (even though he has years of experience already) is ready for the premiership and beyond. He’s picked up bits of rave, indie-punk, baile funk with the electro dance beats and boy do they roll. This is going to be a big festival tune. If he’s right and dance music has gone back to its underground roots, ‘Let The Beats Roll’ will find him in the overground; especially on his tour dates. Audio Bullys’ Simon Franks provides the ‘Who Let The Dogs Out’ with street cred Jack the House vocals. All the remixes capture the bang of the original but get the madness of Rennie Pigrem remix, it’ll make you scream, “Now let the beats roll!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” DJ Tour dates: Reviewed: Tim Deluxe feat. Simon Franks - ‘Let The Beats Roll’ (Skint) Cat No: SKINT 133CD Release date: 21 May, 2007 Links: |

The man’s a legend! Founded TCR back in 1993, went on to set up ‘Friction’ with Adam Freeland, Tayo and Ian Williams which kick-started the whole ‘Nu Skool’ scene. He continues to DJ all over the world with his dancefloor-friendly funk-infused breaks sets. Rennie is also part of the team responsible for the ‘Breaksday’ concept - so far 3 parties have been held, one at WMC in Miami which was one of the most talked about parties of the conference and more recently at The Glade Festivals which were both huge successes. He has been voted ‘Most Valuable/Influential Person’ at The International Breaks Awards four years running and last year also picked up awards for Best Single (2Freaks) and Best Remix. A rare chance to see Rennie Pilgrem in Liverpool - don’t miss this…
