Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. ‘Wasp Cocktail’ is based on bouncy bass thuds and the synthy warp twiddles of the wasp trapped in a bottle (possibly playing techno ping-pong). Not sure how many wasp geeks there are but this is a track for you. Tim Sheridan’s imaginatively named label released there first CD recently, Spektre live at last years’ Glade festival, so they are clearly on a roll with Mr. Dazing adding to their team. The other track, ‘Microstrip’ is a bit of an odd mix of glitchy tech minimal alarm sounds to the experimental; ideal for dancefloor reversing or distant emergency vehicles. On the remix, perhaps the only thing you could do is tidy it up in a more conventional bpm - which is exactly what Sierra Sam And Marcus Vector do with slices of knife slashes and metal wobble with percussive interludes of minimal dub. This one has come out of the leftfield and it’s like an attack of killer bees (wasps); very, very wrong but in a good way indeed.
