After the Jazzanova Homecooking compilation that came out 12 months ago, this follow-up get deep into the Baden-Württemberg wine growing area with loads of recipes in the 48 page booklet.

Certainly a nice present but as a veggie, the rather rich meat and fish emphasis doesn’t do much for me. So, what of the music? You need not worry on that score as it’s Rainer Trüby after all.

No surprise the starter is a track of by his mate from Trüby Trio, Christian Prommer and his version of ‘Claire’ (of the album of the year Drumlesson). Interesting to compare with what they were up to nearly 10 years ago on the Trio remix of ‘Solid Water’.

Staying back in time, the Tokyo Black Star/Rich Medina classic and Soulphiction’s ‘Love Thang’ just show how ‘downtempo’ should be done; not to mention our friend Eva Be on ‘She Walks Alone’.

On the Big Chill type of things, ‘Everything’ by Clara Hill’s Folkwaves sounds as good as it ever did and you’ll recall Clara was the voice on Jazzanova’s ‘That Night’ and we get a sultry live (in the SK office) version of that one.

On the soul side (Modern Room), some lesser known artists shine like Georg ‘Wahoo’ Levin and 1Luv (also check the Neophilia album). On the more uptempo side of things, Henrik Schwarz on the remix is always good, the ever excellent Vikter Duplaix (with Clara Hill again) and 1Soul8’s top track off Balance.

If you’re a fan of ‘Like A Rainbow’ by Amanita (as featured on Paz e Futebol), there’s an exclusive house version here by Nomumbah.

I’ve been biting my keyboard to avoid any ‘Diner Jazz’ reference or, heaven forbid ‘Diner nu-jazz’ as the this cup floweth over with goodness. Don’t even mention Helen Mayhew to me or I’ll bite ya head off.

Probably caught between this one and the recent 10 Years, Who Cares? Not really, the more the merrier as the Sonar Kollektive non-stop party continues.
