V/A - Exit Music: Songs With Radio Heads EP#2

While Thom Yorke was all over the UK press yesterday with his work for Friends Of The Earth, Hectic returns to the cover versions on Rapster.

Exit Music EP2

Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site.

The second 12” off the recent album of Radiohead covers is released and it’s fast becoming my favourite of the lot.

I can’t say I’m too keen on the original but Pete Kuzma’s production of ‘High & Dry’ steals it with the masterful soulful vocals of Bilal. The other two tracks are not on my copy of the CD so check the tracklistings as you don’t want to miss them.

Waajeed (Platinum Pied Piper and special guest DJ lined up Foreign Beggars’ for a Cargo gig at the end of the month) and Ms. Blaire gets her ‘Knives Out’ in a threatening downtempo alleyway (scary stuff).

Me’Shell Ndegeocello is joined by drummer Chris Dave on ‘The National Anthem’. Haunting dubby jazzy ambientness via your indie rock base with Kebbi Williams on sax make it a winner.

At this rate I’ll be joining the ‘real’ Radiohead fans anticipating the next album of new stuff slated for 2007. And then again..
