Mere upstarts compared to 10 Years Of Finger Lickin’ or Sonar Kollektiv’s 10 Years, Who Cares? but you’ll recall last year Oliver Koletzki released his solo album Get Wasted. As this is all about Stil Vor Talent’s third birthday party, he’s invited all his friends to add ingredients to the musical birthday cake.

Micky Monzza & Joseph Disco do the business for our other favourite techno label, Great Stuff Recordings (Oliver did a remix of their ‘Bounce Baby’) but ‘Lonely’ is a massive up-tempo breaks of a techno disco fashion where you want to give them the night; and it gets into a reggae groove. How much more do you want/can you get? Can’t stop playing this one on the 12” - Part One.

Obviously with a third birthday, you need three 12s to cover it. So also on Part One, there’s a couple of new names to me, Lexy who’s got a fancy girl all cut up and glitchy and Animal Trainer get percussively old-school synth with ‘Talkshow’. H.O.S.H. makes a welcome return to SVT and keeps it suitably minimal but it could have been lots more druggy for a track called ‘Ben Johnson’.

And talking of old friends, you’ll recall Flash Recordings is Oliver and Florian Meindl’s label. Florian’s still fresh from the acclaim of ‘8 Bit Romance’ (the one with the mega Radio Slave remix) has been receiving so this can his track on Part Two match it? ‘Rotor’ is just classic industrial rotor fans with Force FX lightsaber to a bangin’ beat; let this guy mess with your mind and feet.

Oliver spotted Channel X’s talent early on and their new track, ‘Sleeping Dogs’ will not let any dog sleep as it’s loud and bouncy; almost reggae-like again. Another old SVT is Jürgen Kirsch and ‘Rain In Osaka’ is so pacey Ben Johnson couldn’t keep up with it; percussive beats with warm and melodic synths - think of a summer rain on the Shinkansen - next stop Kyoto.

The next 12” instalment (Part 3) is coming out next month, there’s an October/November celebratory DJ tour plus a double CD mix by Koletzki & Meindl just to keep the party going. Just how much jelly do you want on your plate? Party on!
