Verb T & The Last Skeptik - 'Satisfied' |

Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Hard to believe it was a year ago that the Verb T & Harry Love dropped the album Bring It Back To Basics so it’s about time that basic attitude gets a new hearing. Hip hop fans will know The Last Skeptik as a producer, DJ, MC, radio presenter and journalist (Undercover, UKHH), makes you wonder, what doesn’t he do? The subject matter of these three tracks may sound like standard underground hip hop UK (or otherwise) fodder. Drug addiction, war, a night out and life as an emcee are lifeblood. Even if the helium-voiced sample in the background of ‘Satisfied’ does detract, it’s subtle on the beats with a mellow piano riff. Talkin’ of subtle, the almost whispering ‘March’ is set to a 1-2-3-4 beat of a march and as Sway and Kyza glide around the square, the track resonates all the way back to Art Blakey’s ‘Blue March’. What a great line, “Steppin’ thru’ the haze like Hendrix”! Not the most exciting of vids, but sceptics can see through that as these soundz ain’t silent; the album comes out at the end of July. Hectic Mix Nomination — All (but ‘March’ in particular) Reviewed: Verb T & The Last Skeptik — Satisfied (Silent Soundz) Release Date: 11th June 2007 Links: |
