Wave Machines - I Go I Go I Go

Big Stereo blog favourites Wave Machines come back with vaguely go-go synth-pop stunner for the summer.

NPCDSP0001.jpg

The previous single, ‘Keep The Lights On’ was quite a revelation as a bedroom Scissor Sisters sub-disco production. Lead singer’s Tim Bruzon’s falsetto vocal has been described as “part Beck Hansen part Barry Gibb” which is a bit of a worry but these four synth-popsters from Merseyside continue the “eccentric lineage” of the likes of XTC, The Beta Band and Hot Chip.

The debut album Wave If You’re Really There is ready for release in June and after a buzz from thier SxSW appearance, they’ve got loads of gigs lined up throughout the summer including the John Peel">John Peel Stage at Glastonbury, Lovebox, Electric Picnic and Bestival, as well as forthcoming appearances at Liverpool Sound City and Dot To Dot festival;
(check them out in Rob da Bank’s A-Z of Festivals).
