WhoMadeWho is a Danish 3-piece band from Copenhagen, playing a mix of no-wave, punk-funk and sneaky covers featuring Tomas Barfod (drums and electronics), Tomas Hoffding (vocals) and Jeppe Kjellberg (guitar).

DJ Koze (aka Stefan Kozalla) is hot on the remixer of choice list at the moment (with his compilation of his own remixes, Reincarnations just out on Get Physical) and I can’t tell a lie, I thought this was a bit dull to start with; perhaps it’s the vocal, “Make Me Feel Safe” but I’m not inspired by this. But it’s definitely a summer tune and with a bit of sun, it gets to feel better.

The 12” version is my least favourite of the three so why are we bringing this one to your attention? Well we normally love anything on the Gomma label and they don’t let us down with a manic afro-funk boogie remix by Kasper Bjorke. This is the one for the Tong types that are after that essential extra bit.

That puts me in my place and WhoMadeWho are appearing at Glastonbury next month to coincide with the 12” release; as the Danes might say if fish must swim, WhoMadeWho must make (music)?
