XRABIT + DMG$ - Hello World |
|

|
You may recall the XRABIT remix of Pop Levi’s ‘DimonĂ©’ but I’m not sure that prepared us for the combination of “old skool with next level bass squelch and sci-fi sonics” of Hello World; in fact I’m sure it didn’t. XRABIT is the Berlin-born producer living in deepest Dalston with an ear for utterly distinctive bass heavy production. Trak Bully and Coool Dundee (aka Damaged Good$ and now collectively known as DMG$) are the Texan combo with MC duties. Dundee is the witty one whilst Trak has the “Dirty South” sound, brilliantly combined on ‘Are We Friends’, ‘My Stereo’ and ‘Follow The Leader’. Follow The Leader - XRABIT & DMG$ Cooler than Ferris Bueller, fresher than De La Soul, hipper than Andre 3000, these guys have it all plus ass shakin’ guaranteed for their live showcase at SXSW when the album gets released. As these guys come from the Texas, Austin better prepare itself for a ‘Party In My Pants’ all over the place and speakers will blow with ‘Same Ole’ and ‘Cheese’ Reviewed: XRABIT + DMG$ - Hello World (Big Dada Recordings) Cat. No. BD131 (2xLP/CD/Download) Release date: 16th March 2009 Links: |
