Each year the Academy takes over an inner city warehouse space and transforms it into a bespoke space for musical innovation, where over a month, participants from all over the over the world are joined by music legends to learn about everything from music history to technology. Previous lecturers have included Gilberto Gil, Tony Allen, Derrick May, Bob Moog, Biz Markie, Mulatu Astatke and The Mizell Brothers right through to new producers from MIA to Skream. Each day workshops take place in specially created, fully equipped practice and recording studios kitted out with the latest music production software, and in the evening participants play out their gigs in the best clubs around town.

Now in its 10th year, 2008 sees the Red Bull Music Academy fly to Barcelona. Application forms for The Red Bull Music Academy can be downloaded at www.redbullmusicacademy.com. The application phase for this years Academy ends on May 5th, 2008.
 
The Broad Casting night will be recorded especially for Red Bull Music Academy Radio .  The radio station contains an archive of music, interviews and mixes from the iconoclastic DJs & musicians who have passed through the Academy’s doors; leftfield, underground, contemporary and genre-crossing.
