MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY Announce International Line Up - 2nd July Rally in Edinburgh

MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY announced a stunning line up of international voices that will address and lead the tens of thousands of people expected to take part in the MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY rally in The Meadows, Edinburgh on Saturday 2nd July

Broadcaster Jonathan Dimbleby and musician Billy Bragg will compere two stages, which will be graced by high profile representatives from the Global Call to Action against Poverty from Zambia, Uganda, South Africa and India, as well as celebrities including Bianca Jagger, Mark Thomas, musicians Baaba Maal, Texas, Daniel Bedingfield, Da Lata, Oi Va Voi and Ben Okafor, actors Billy Boyd, Pete Postlethwaite, Gael Garcia Bernal (star of the Motorcycle Diaries) and representatives from the MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY coalition of over 500 organisations.

The rally begins at 11.00 am. People attending on the day are being encouraged to wear white so that the march, which heads off at 12.00 pm, will form a human white band around the city. The rally will close at 7.30 pm.
