Tinariwen have signed a 4 album recording deal with the London based Independiente label, home of Travis, Embrace, Martina Topley Bird, Black Bud and others. Label boss, Andy Macdonald was responsible for bringing you the likes of Portishead, The Las, The Beautiful South, Billy Bragg, Gabrielle and Paul Weller on his previous imprint, Go Discs.

Tinariwen spent the first half of February at Studio Bogolan in Bamako recording their new album Aman Iman : Water is Life, which is due out later this year.
Tinariwen have been nominated for the 25th International Reggae and World Music Awards
- since this piece was written Tinariwen have released a promising sampler for the new album and are finalising tour dates for 2007….
