Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. I was reading Flyglobalmusic as you do, and couldn’t believe my eyes…the album hasn’t been reviewed. So, here we are…December 2008, with 8 days to Christmas and a review of Mint Condition’s album ‘e-Life’. The album is different to their usual offerings in that it’s a collaborative album. Stand out tracks are:’Baby girl baby boy’ featuring Anthony Hamilton, which looks at the unconditional love of a parent and their child. ‘Somethin” featuring Phonte from Little Brother, which looks at infidelity. ‘Why do we try’ featuring Ali Shaheed Muhammad - totally feeling the d and b riff on that track (that’s Drum and Bass for the uninitiated). ‘Back and Forth’ — which uses a sample from Stevie Wonder. ‘Moan’ — well, a classic Mint melody — a track for the lovers! Chris ‘Daddy’ Dave does a fantastic job on the drums on track 2 - Somethin’ and track 9 - Why do we try. You have to see this guy perform live to understand! All in all a good album, a step away from what classic Mint Condition fans would expect, but for those of us that can think outside the box, e-Life is a solid album. Tracklisting: 1. Baby Girl Baby Boy - featuring Anthony Hamilton For more on the band, check out mintconditionmusic.com |
