Aesop Rock - 'None Shall Pass' |
|||||||
|
Apart from his own releases, he’s much in demand and has appeared on Chocolate Industries Urban Renewal Program (with Mos Def, Diverse and Prefuse 73) and with Japan’s DJ Krush, Zion I, Evil 9, Stone Throw’s Percee P to name a few plus numerous collaborations with Definitive Jux’s bossman, El-P. So well respected and popular, it’s taken two years to come up with his follow up to Fast Cars, Danger, Fire, and Knives. If you’re a fan of Busdriver or Daedelus in his Equisite Corpse period this is for you as the helium backing vocals chant ‘None Shall Pass’ over a gentle palm tree guitar and bouncy synths. Far better than his flirtations with Trent ‘NIN’ Resnor (even if ‘Flyentology’ is one of the best song titles ever and it’s worth checking the Bass Clef remix of ‘EMG’), ‘None Shall Pass’ even made it onto Talk Sports’ weekly selection of tunes to watch! Go hommies Paul and Andy. Aesop Rock recently appeared at Bonnaroo 2007so hopefully he’ll be on his way over for some live gigs to promote the new album.
