4hero including ‘Game Over’ on their recent …Mixing compilation was a reminder of just how good Dabyre’s Two/Three album is. Ghostly International certainly haven’t forgot and have slipped out this 12” headed up with A.G. on smutty brag duty backed with “parping bass” and “mutant squelch” for this top choice.

On the dubstep tip, Kode9 isn’t scared of the dark stuff (see The Warrior Dubs, Dubstep Allstars, Hyperdub Records, etc and gives ‘Air’ a blast from the bass bin on a slight Latin tip. Very slight admittedly but this is the mesmorising one, especially the instrumental.

But before we finish, LA’s Flying Lotus , recently signed to Warp Records, tackles the tricky business of remixing ‘Game Over’, featuring Dilla and Phat Kat, as they defined the FU Detroit sound. As it’s the instrumental remix, it’s not that far from where Kode9 is at. The classic original version also included here and it’s not worth tracking down the vocal version of Flying Lotus’ remix (it’s on a compilation Break-A-Way Planets if you really need it).

I’m told this EP is “fit for the club or deep subway headphone sessions!” Yeah, I can see that and while other Ghostly International releases tend to more house orientated, like the compilation ‘Death Is Nothing To Fear EP’ (a five tracker with Daso of Daso and Pawas, Berlin’s Seth Troxler, Chicago’s Kate Simko, Jonas Kopp from Buenos Ares and Kill) and the forthcoming Ruling EP by Osborne on the sister label, Spectral Sound.
