Ever the Edwardian gentleman, Alfred Weisberg-Roberts (aka Daedelus, Deaedelus Darling, half of Adventure Time and more) gets into his own musical time machine to go back; way back in time to illegal rave parites off the M25.

You’ll recall ‘Like Clockwork Springs’ (from Denies The Days Demise, in true Fair Weather Friends style, ‘Hrs:Mins:Secs’ is nothing like any of them!

Thing Golden Earing’s ‘Radar Love’ on the outside lane of the Nurburgring in a D’n’b warehouse the size of Belgium ready the count down to the big bang going off. If you’re not up to this type on head-onism, there’s a more refined version by Boston producer Etan (Counterwe’ll worht checking his MySpace site, see links below).

Timed to coincide with the launch of his new website Daedelusmusic.com and his UK festival dates, this is his year. Strangely enough I was at Banquet Records a couple of weeks ago, I was assurred the photo of Daedelus at the store was on the counter (under a pile of records) but sitting alongside all their most recent instore’s (like Be Your Own Pet and this years’ indie things, Foals). Always worth supporting your independent record store as, at the time, they just got in Benga’s Diary Of An Afro Warrior and Foals single ‘Cassius’ (with the amazing Kieran Hebden remix which is a must (also look out for the Hectic remix of their show stopper ‘Electric Bloom’).

Anyway, back to Daedelus, you’ll probably have got your hands on his first ever ‘live’ album release, Live At Low End (Alpha Pup) and his Next Ninja Tune ablum is coming out in June, Love To Make Music To. Could this be a return to his more romantic sensitive side that weaved “a true love-sound” between honeyed melody and avant-electronics or more hardcore bangin’? Knowing him, it’ll probably be some sort of combination which just makes it feel like its going to be an even longer wait; erm..what’s the time now?
