Dwele - Sketches of a Man

This, I feel, is Dwele’s best album yet, with twenty songs that give his fans a taster of his thoughts, feelings and emotions.

dwele sketches of a man

Sex, love, life and relationships are Dwele’s main subjects on Sketches of a Man with guest appearances from Slum Village on ‘Brandi’ and Lloyd Dwayne and J. Tait on ‘If You Want To’.

Producers Ronald Estill, Timothy Maynor and Tilmon Welch help form Dwele’s fresh modern soul sound for Sketches of a Man. It will remind Dwele fan’s of Donny Hathaway’s Extentions of a Man, though this Chi-town native is far from Mr. Hathaway and his
smooth singing should win him more fans.

Some of the best on the album include a cover of Bobby Caldwell’s classic soul hit, ‘Open Your Eyes’, ‘5 Dolla Mic’, lead single ‘I’m Cheatin’, the soulful ‘You Won’t Be Lonely - interlude’, certainly some of Dwele’s best works to date.

Sketches of a Man was released on KOCH Records on 24 June 2008.
