Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. The only thing that saved it from a swift binning was the name Jim White, and I’m glad I didn’t as it’s got some gems of Americana on it. ‘Blindly We Go’ is worthy of an early Neil Young and ‘Crash Into the Sun’ a recognisable anthem, just two of the lilting, thoughtful epiphanies that make up the album of gothic-tinged numbers on - I don’t even want to write it again - Transnormal Skiperoo. The numbers are all delivered with a Southern drawl that always seems just on the verge of breaking and a nu-folk lounge feel to the beats that draws the listener in. It’s a gentle album of gentle reflections, stories of Deep South life which you’ll want to return to. As long as you can get past the stupid title. Transnormal Skiperoo is realeased on Luakabop on 1 October. Tour dates: Links: |
