I can’t say I’ve heard much of Giant Step since the Zap Mama ‘Show Me The Way’ 12” and even Kenny Dope remixes have been quieter than usual lately. However, put Malena and Mr. Gonzalez together and they’ve produced a sublime Latin-flavoured, acoustic guitar lead summer house of loveliness.

She’s previously had a 12” out on Divine Records, ‘Free To Fly’ (Ed. that should be our theme tune?) but she’s really got her act together on the forthcoming album that ‘Chase The Butterflies’ has been taken from. It’s called Stars and she’s got some big ones to work with her on it. In addition to Mr Gonzalez, she has worked with Carlos Niño (With Voices) Osunlade (Interview and album review of Aquarian Moon), Alix Alvarez (Sole Channel Music) and Michael Johnson (KetchaVibe).

Definitely one to watch out for.
