Please note this is an old page and Fly Global Music has now moved. Please follow this link and search for the entry in the new site. Omni has just completed a huge tour and no doubt he will be back on the road again soon. For this hard-working rapper the music is not a job, it is his destiny. His two previous albums have been solo affairs but for Balllyhoo, he has called in a wide range of talent to augment his funky, eclectic sound. Featuring ex-Pharcyde frontman Fatlip, Freestyle Fellowship’s Myka Nine, and Lootpack’s WildChild, Living Legends cofounder LuckyiamPSC, Omni’s fellow BLX crew members Sklim Milx and Molmaniak, and newcomers Abnormal, Big Swish, DeejayPudgEmcee and Latina singer Jefferson DeJesus also step up. Expect leftfield lyrics and some hard, bouncing basslines across the 15 tracks. Soulful moments vie with jazzy interludes and a mellow, easy flow. And unlike too many hip hop albums, there is plenty of variety between tracks. He even manages to briefly resurrect the tired phone call interlude sketch with a wickedly funny skit courtesy of Sleazy-E. Lots of stand out tracks and an album that works as a whole. Tracks: |
