‘Bojangles’ was lifted from M.I.A.M.I. which was one of the biggest selling Spanish/English bi-lingual hip hop albums ever. The track features Lil Jon and the Ying Yang Twins in a big beat hip hop mix of Crunk and Fatman Scoop; everybody scream, “The following is not a test DJ!”

This is definitely a big tune for your party. The Dirty version is suitably jiggy bootylicious and there’s the instrumental to play around with (might even try some Chinese crickets).

The album El Mariel is officially coming out in the UK in January. Apparently, Pitbull (aka Armando Christian Perez) has got some equally heavy tracks on it like ‘Miami Shit’ and ‘Jealouso’. Interestingly, he says “I don’t do reggaeton — not that I don’t like it: It’s not my (thing)” but ‘Bojangles’ is bound to hit the decks on the new Reggaeton Fury this weekend (see links below).

The Ying Yang Twins have also got a new album coming out in January on TVT called Chemically Imbalanced. TVT Records is one of the top US independent labels of the past 20 years with such diverse artists as Nine Inch Nails (hey! Trent Reznor will be on El-P’s next album I’ll Sleep When You’re Dead out March 2007), Ja Rule, Underworld and Bravo’s favourite drunk punk band from Peterborough, Towers Of London.

Now there’s a thought, a Tower’s cover of Bojangles! Baby, take it down.
