We’ve loved all the 12s so much so you won’t be amazed to hear that the album of R.E.-Edits first five releases is an absolute must have CD. Finally it’s now reached this side of the pond (well, you can now purchase it in Sounds Of The Universe off Berwick Street in Soho see links below) so it’s time for a bit of a re-cap.

So not one to repeat myself (Ed.Are you sure?), if you dig James Brown and David Bowie (check R.E.-Edits Volume 2) as these two are definitely my favourite as they are so outrageous in respectful way; “wish upon..gotta get smart”, so more refined than his Spiders From Mars period.

But they are all here from Dwele & Love Unlimited Orchestra - R.E.-Edits Volume 1, American Gypsy / Erykah Badu - R.E.-Edits Volume 3, Love Unlimited & Angie Stone - R.E.-Edits Volume 4 and Myra Barnes, Common, Roy Hargrove and Erykah Badu - R.E.-Edits Volume 5.

Phew! That Common track sounds really special at the moment and just so that there’s a bit extra, Raphael Saadiq’s ‘What’s Life Like’ comes as an added bonus (originally from his classic album from 2002, Instant Vintage).

And if that’s not enough, don’t forget Volume Six came out earlier this year.
