The Million Dollar Orchestra - Better Days |

Not straight soul, mind you. Eight songs offer dancefloors more soul than the average Kenny Dope or Osunlade hit song. Al Kent features vocalists like Lynn from Ebonycuts, who give the songs a slice of future soul machine. Lush, joyful and rich. Al Kent’s musical approach is basically inspired by his father who had cabinets full of vinyl (Abba, Elvis, Glitter Band, Buddy Holly…) and whisky. In the 1970s, he ran away from home to live in New York. At the age of eight he attended the Loft and hung out with Italian DJs…but less about Al and more about Better Days. It will inspire those who appreciate real music. Although, its upbeat tempo’s sometimes you’d wish would slow down. It’s a fast record. Sometimes you wonder if Al ran away not just with music but Whisky because this album sounds very up tempo, the strings and beat…you wonder if they will run out of sync with each other. From BBE Music website quotes Joey Negro, “Al Kent has managed to recreate the modern soul meets backstreet disco sound he loves with amazing authenticity” Track List: |
