The Canadian duo apparently met via the wonders of myspace and seem to have hit on something that’s so simple and obvious, it’s brilliant. Crunk vs. D.J. Bang meets James Pants with simple lyrics, a retro-electro beats and a fantastic video.
If you check around, their version of the Eurythmics’ ‘Sweet Dreams (Are Made Of This)’ (as ‘SueƱos Dulces’) it’s another slice of updated retro and indicates that these guys are up for a party. The official release of ‘Jerk It’ is 15th December on Big Dada but copies are out in clubs ahead of time and there’s of a couple of gigs in London soon (should be impressive if Isis is as vibrant as she is in the video). Definitely ones to watch out and they are now making an album; in the meantime, continue dusting it off and jerkin’ it. Forthcoming Live: Links |
