Ugly Duckling is old skool and you get exactly what it says. To nick a line from Joe Kent’s review of their Scala gig, “Ugly Duckling lie a long way from the cutting edge of the rap world” (see full review HERE). A couple of years’ on and they are still doing it. And it’s still sounds good. These guys won’t and can’t change as MCs Andy and Dizzy are still at their entertaining best and Young [not so now] Einstein can still scratch as good as the best of ‘em.

In short, if you like their Bang For The Buck album, you’ll love this one. ‘Oh Yeah’ is the new ‘Yudee!’.

The band are currently on the UK section of their European tour which includes a return to the Scala tomorrow (still in Kings Cross, still run down) so best to check their MySpace site to see if they come near you as the thing is, wherever these guys go they’ll stick to the fact that hip-hop should be about having fun.

So whether live, on CD or download a good time will be had without doubt. “Oh Yeah!”
