‘Da Music’ kicks off proceedings with a really interesting beat by DJ Vinroc which mixes jazz and soul samples to create something which sounds contemporary yet vintage. Lunar Heights drops healthy vocals on top, creating an instant album highlight straight away. Other notable songs include ‘Play The Role’ by Bavu Blakes which is very much a spoken word and soul orientated number. Spank Pops and Trackademicks provide a confident summer sound in ‘Small World’ and ‘Raise’ by Khai Sharrieff concludes the album with a head nodding and atmospheric mood.

Overall, the compilation’s a lot stronger than many underground releases of the same structure, and it’s worth checking out to hear some up and coming artists and beat makers.
